Embarking on the creation of their dream home, a custom new build with traditional bones became the canvas for a family of four, who also happened to be seasoned custom home builders. Despite their expertise, the demands of their professional lives left them creatively drained, unable to fully envision their own sanctuary.

An affinity for antiques, coupled with a love for wallpaper and rich colours, defined their aesthetic. The goal was to blend old pieces, such as family heirlooms, with new selections throughout the home and to infuse some dark, moody tones in selected areas.

The foyer and staircase, initially plain, received a dose of interest through the use of carefully chosen design elements, which bring life to the entrance and offer a warm welcome.

In the kitchen, a space that needed a touch of styling, the integration of practical yet stylish elements enhanced both form and function.

The library, dining room, and family room became showcases of custom designed furniture by Vanessa. Custom pillows and draperies further personalized the spaces and created a harmonious blend of luxury and comfort.
